“We met neighbors we never spoke with before and our children now know every dog on the block.

Scout taught me to take life a little less seriously.

I appreciate the simplicity of play.”

“After having four kids, with one already out the door, getting Scout is like having a new two year old.

She has added a new layer to our nuclear family.

We have met new people and made new friends through having Scout.

She has introduced us to an entire subculture.”

“I used to think the dog ate my homework was a joke, but I have been a witness to Scout doing just that.

She recently ate several pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that must have fallen on the the floor.

Luckily, her unfortunate food choices have worked themselves out of her system and we haven’t had to take her to a veterinarian.”

“Scout has been a great distraction for the family side our oldest child went off to college.

Everyone misses her, but Scout is like a new family member as well as a new responsibility.

She needs a watchful eye because she is a puppy.”

“The kids love to play with her, and they help with the walking when they can.

We also have given in to getting a dog walker sometimes because it takes the pressure off of us.

I can take the kids to activities like soccer or dance after school without worrying about running home to walk her.”

“My son wanted a bigger dog.

We had a Bijon Frise before Scout who wasn’t friendly, but I grew up with a Labrador Retriever and knew their good temperament.

Half of my family is allergic to dogs, which is why we had a Bijon.

We decided to give the Labrador a chance with restricted access around the apartment.

She doesn’t go in any of the bedrooms.”

“My oldest, who is allergic is off at college and my husband is coping.

He took shots for a few years with our last dog, (who was supposed to by hypoallergenic), but has since stopped.

Scout has not only cheered up my son who asked for her, but is a great addition to the family.

She is a therapy dog.

Scout makes everybody happy.”

My older son wanted a dog.

I have two boys and two girls.

He is the second oldest.

He’s a teenager and he seemed a little depressed and it seemed like getting a dog would be a good thing.

Of all my kids, he doesn’t ask for a lot.”

“My girlfriend and I live pretty hectic lives and it’s easy after a week of work to veg out at home and relax, but having a dog has given us a reason to get out of the city more often.

We like to get out to the woods, (which is our roots), and the beach.

On Monday, we went to the beach with Isabel and I threw a frisbee into the ocean.

She is usually tentative around the ocean, but this time, she dove head on into the water and body surfed a wave back to shore.

It was beautiful to see.

Having Isabel has allowed me to reassess my time and goals.

It’s easy to get caught up doing my work, which is indoors.

I’ve realized how much we value our time outside.

I realize that through Isabel.

“There were about 40 people waiting in the lot for their dogs to arrive.

After bringing Isabel home, I immediately thought we were lucky.

We wound up with a dog who was pretty responsive to house training.

She had accidents like any other dog, but she was quick to learn.

Since getting Isabel, I think I have risen to the challenge of becoming a responsible dog owner; by walking, feeding, training, and just being there for her.

This is a healthy stepping stone in my life.”
