Java, the Apricot Hypoallergenic Labradoodle puppy (part 2)

“When they had a litter of three we had first pick because we were the first to put down a deposit after being approved.

Java was the only apricot and he had a white heart on his forehead, so we knew he was going to be ours.

We’ve had him since October 7th.

The best and worst thing about having Java, is that he is still a puppy.”

“We lost our dogs of 17 years and waited a respectable amount of time to get another dog.

After a year, we decided to get a Labradoodle.

Our first dog was a rescue and shed an incredible amount, plus our nephew is allergic to dogs, so we knew we wanted a non-shedding/hypoallergenic dog.

We have a friend who has two doodles from Java’s breeder.

We contacted the breeder, they approved us and put us on the list for a puppy.”

“For me, Tina is the first taste of having to be responsible for another being and loving it unconditionally.

My wife, Tina and I feel like a proper family unit, now.

Having a dog is a beautiful and enriching experience. “

When I held her, she rested her chin on my arm and I fell in love with her.

I asked myself for a split second, if I was ready and my husband said, she’s the one.

Now I see myself as her parent, and I am there for her, with whatever she needs.

My husband and I come together and we are a team for Mabel.

She has become our priority.

Having Mabel has taught me to think beyond myself, and I love being able to take care of her.

Giving her love and receiving unconditional love back has been a blessing.”

“We started following Korean K9 Dog Rescue’s website and saw Mabel’s photograph four months later.

I looked at her picture every day for 11 days.

I found out there was an event happening in Long Island City.

We waited on line for over an hour and a half to meet her.

I looked for her, but she wasn’t in the center, playing with the other rambunctious puppies.

She was off in a corner, curled up in a little ball.

She was already a year old and was so calm.”

“When they post new dogs, a foster care giver clicks on the link to come down and pick up the dog, if the care giver is available.

That is exactly what we did with Tina.

Six dogs had just arrived from the Dominican Republic that needed fostering.

We were in the first six responders, and went downtown that night to foster Tina.”
