“My mother cooks for him, plays with him and even walks him.

Leo acts as a therapy dog as well as a companion.

My mother has a routine with him and it keeps her mind busy.

Leo is very social, he wants to play with every dog he sees, so she has been forced to be social as well.

All in all, Leo has been a help to our family.”

“I filled out an application for him on the Friday before Mother’s Day and that Sunday, I got a call to go to Unleashed on Columbus Avenue to meet with him.

He and his brother were both available.

I had filled out the application for Leo, so I met with him, and after the apartment inspection he was ours.

I found out that his mom and two other dogs were surrendered to a shelter and immediately spayed and neutered, without knowing that one of the dogs was pregnant.”

“We also spoke with her foster person, who told us that she was originally nervous but that was becoming less so, and she thought she would turn into a great dog– with the right people.

We went home, walked it over for a few weeks, and decided to formalize the adoption process.

She was a good size for an apartment and we liked that.”

She was a dachshund mix, and we felt that her young age made her trainable to be a good city dog.

We were excited to have her.”

“I’ve always loved dogs and I’ve always wanted a dog, and I had a change in my job situation.

I was going to be working from home, so I would have the ability to give time to taking care of a dog.

My girlfriend and I searched for rescue dogs online.

We knew we wanted a rescue.

My girlfriend wanted to get a dachshund, so we googled dachshund rescue and Pet finder showed us various dachshunds, including Penny (whose name wasn’t Penny at the time).”
