“About eight years ago both my sister and veterinarian noticed that Zimmy’s head shape was changing.

Instead of being round it was caved in looking.

We went to a dog neurologist and he was diagnosed with a rare German Shepherd disease, called Muscular Myelitis.

It wears away the muscle mass in the dog’s head.”

JARVIS, THE GOLDEN DOODLE PUPPY THAT WAS BORN THE DAY WE GOT ENGAGED (PART 4, HE SAID)

“My fiancé has been more accommodating by respecting my wishes and not letting Jarvis on the sofa.

Raising Jarvis together has made us a better team.

We make decisions together.

We have learned to trust each other’s opinions and are willing to accept the opinions of one another.

We are flexible with each other.

No one is ever completely wrong.”

“I had always wanted a dog growing up, but my mom didn’t like dogs, because when she was very young a street dog chased and bit her.

This was in Nigeria, where I am from.

When I met my fiancé, who loves animals (dogs and lions in particular), she had a wolf-dog called Balto, who was very old when we started dating.

He was 15 and lived to be 19.

When he passed, my fiancé was distraught.”

“Getting the puppy together has been good for our relationship.

We have learned how well we work together on something as stressful as a puppy.

Hopefully, we will continue to communicate well throughout our life together, especially during stressful times.

Having Jarvis is good preparation for having a family.

Kids are obviously way more work, but we are having a good trial run.

I look forward to sharing more responsibility as time goes on.”

” Jarvis was delivered to my front door in Manhattan.

He arrived a month after my last dog died and at first I was not used to having a puppy.

I was used to a fully trained dog, that was mine, alone.

Jarvis is mine and my finance’s.

It has been a learning experience for both of us.

It was tough on us at first with the training and all the walking.

He was also an added stress to the wedding planning-but a good stress because we were able to communicate better.”

“My dog that I had for five years died in May.

My fiancé and I decided we wanted a Golden Doodle because we heard great things about them, and mainly because they don’t shed.

I found Jarvis online on Orchard Pups website.

I talked to the breeder on the phone and she sounded very trustworthy and I read a lot of positive reviews about her.

Also, Jarvis was born on the day I got engaged.”

Ginkgo, the soon to be world traveling mutt (part 5)

“Ginkgo loves people and dogs, except for young children and babies.

I am preparing for our trip by putting together a medical kit for her as well as myself.

I am working on my safety skills, learning boat repair, and becoming a better navigator.

The reason for the trip is to make a documentary film about by travels and see the world before settling down.”

“Ginkgo is my furry best friend.

I like her better than a lot of humans.

She has a great spirit, she’s intuitive– she has an acute sense of her surroundings.

Ginkgo is a great judge of character.

When she meets someone she doesn’t like she barks.

I trust her.”

“After twenty-two years, I lost my job.

L.T. has been my support.

He gets me out and walking every day.

I’ve lost fifteen pounds as well as my depression, since getting L.T.”

“We spent close to four hours with him–my entire family sat with him to make sure it was going to work.

He was gentle with my granddaughter and he got along with my daughter’s dog, so we adopted him.

After five months we got an email from Paws Crossed asking if we would be interested in setting up a play date with L.T. and his sister.

We were happy to have the sibling puppies socialize together.

We met at a dog park in Westchester and they got along beautifully.

They looked identical, and after ten minutes they were inseparable.

We are going to set up a play date once a month.”
