“He likes to greet every dog as they enter the dog run.

It’s like he’s saying, welcome!

My boyfriend and I were long distance for three years and we are both performers and we moved to NYC together.

When his work took him out of town, I was lonely.

Bruce has totally been there for me.  I don’t have time to wallow in the loneliness anymore, because he deserves the most happy wonderful life.”

“The breeder knew I wanted a small dog and Bruce was the runt of the litter, so it was a good match.

I love his smushed face. I think it’s perfect.

I grew up with big dogs.

Bruce has a big dog personality in a small size.

He’s like a line backer.

He likes to play with the big dogs as well as the small ones.

He’s fearless.

He’s really social, which is one of my favorite things about him.”

“I’ve always been a dog lover and I knew that I wanted a dog for a long time.

When I found Bruce, I knew he was the one for me.

I got him from a breeder in Missouri.

It was a family friend who knew the I’d been interested.

I wanted to rescue a dog, but with all my traveling as an actor, I needed to make sure that I had a small dog that could fit under my seat in an airplane’

Olive, the French Bulldog that wants to play 24/7 (part 6)

“Since having Olive our best moments have been since we moved.

A few years ago I had a falling out with a good friend was grateful to have Olive as a comfort.

It was nice to have something enjoyable that occupied my time and thoughts, like taking her on long walks and having her wait for me after a long day or night at work.

She is affectionate and it’s great to have a dog that loves me as much as I love her, even though she can be a pain in the butt.”

“I say that it’s like living with a toddler.

She wants to play 24/7.

I started doing research into rescuing a Frenchie but I realized pretty quickly that the ones available to rescue usually had either health or behavioral issues.

I realized that I wasn’t the best owner for that situation.”

“I got Olive because my last dog died and I was still living at home, but was considering moving out on my own.

I was doing research on good apartment dogs and French Bulldogs came up a few times.

I also thought they were very cute.

People said they were quiet and calm.

Olive is the opposite.”

Jojo, the Beloved French Bulldog, Shared by Two People (part 2)

“His owner said, Jojo would come home home after our trip to the dog run and Central Park, and pass out from exhaustion.

Next, we started having sleepovers.

His owner and I decided that I would keep him for several days a t time, which turned into Thursday evening through Monday morning.

I started taking him to he veterinarian, because I had him on the weekend, and his owner and I work during the week, and neither of us have much free time.”

“I just kept walking by the store where Jojo would come to work with his mom, because I would see him sitting on the sofa by the window.

I started to go in  and sit with him, and he would play with me.

Then, I started walking him and taking him to the dog park to play.

After the dog run, I started taking him to Central Park for at least an hour at a time.

From one hour it turned into an afternoon, and then I began keeping him for an entire day.”

Susu, the French Bulldog that provided comfort and stability (part 5)

“It’s hard to leave any dog behind.

You can’t communicate with them and tell them you will back.

I leave her with either a family member or a friend that she has a relationship with.

When we see each other for the first time after I return, there is no calming her down.

She doesn’t even bark, she wiggles and licks my hands.

I can’t pet her right away, I just let her lick my hands and do her thing.

It’s the one time I let her lick me excessively.

It’s the best feeling to come home to her.

I reminds me just how much I mean to her and she means to me.”

“I saw this white Frenchie and I had no intention a buying a dog, as I just moved to Las Vegas a month earlier and wasn’t settled yet.

But, I did–I walked out with Susu.

My immediate reaction when I got home was, what did I do?

I felt like a single mom, but luckily I had a lot of friends and family in Vegas and they were there when I needed it.

I quickly realized it was the best decision I could have made.

It was the perfect time.”
