Norman, the Goofy Shepherd/Husky Puppy That Makes Everyone Laugh (part 5)

“My husband and I are usually out and about and traveling, but Norman has caused us to be home and slow down.

We have spent every weekend at home and now have a greater appreciation for the city.

We take long walks through the park and spend more time at the dog run, because Norman loves it.”

My husband and I love having two dogs in the house.

We had Hannah, a Silky Terrier, and we had another dog that passed away in April.

We waited five months to get Norman.

I heard about a rescue group called Muddy Paws and I looked them up.

They had a lot of great dogs on their site.”

Scout, the Labrador Retriever that brought joy to a family (part 6)

“I used to think the dog ate my homework was a joke, but I have been a witness to Scout doing just that.

She recently ate several pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that must have fallen on the the floor.

Luckily, her unfortunate food choices have worked themselves out of her system and we haven’t had to take her to a veterinarian.”

My older son wanted a dog.

I have two boys and two girls.

He is the second oldest.

He’s a teenager and he seemed a little depressed and it seemed like getting a dog would be a good thing.

Of all my kids, he doesn’t ask for a lot.”

Yoda, the Rescue Pug Who Needed Some Loving (part 4)

“A week before Christmas his original owner left me a voice message saying, she finally recognized that it wasn’t fair for Yoda to be alone and not getting the attention or training he deserved.

She knew and trusted me enough to know that Yoda would be better off with my partner and me.

She dropped him at my apartment on Christmas Eve of 2017.

That was almost a year ago.”

“I continued to keep in touch with her regarding Yoda.

The situation in Pittsburgh was not ideal for his new family because the husband worked  twelve hour days and his wife was not able to care for Yoda.

He ended up spending most of his days in a dog play pen.”

“I work in child care and saw her at the end of day pick up in the playground and talked to her almost every other day.

When he was five months old, she surrendered Yoda to her brother in Pittsburgh, because he wanted a dog, but his wife, who had just given birth did not want a dog, let alone a demanding puppy.”

“Yoda came to us.

He was owned by a woman and her ten year old son, who I met at a playground.

He was three months old and she told me, she didn’t think she and her son were going to keep him because it was harder to take care of a puppy than she was told.

As soon as I heard that I knew that I had to befriend her and either lend her a hand in taking care of him or convince her to give him to me.”

Samantha, the Pit Bull Terrier/Shitzu mix rescue, who was a very sick puppy (part 7)

“My boyfriend is not happy about that but he acknowledges that if anything were to happen with us as a couple, Samantha is my dog.

She is the biggest blessing.

She is unconditionally loving and brings me joy everyday.”

“Samantha is so full of love that she zoomed around the apartment when I came home from school and then sat on my lap for most of the evening.

Technically, Samantha is my boyfriend’s dog as well as mine, but I am protective of her and have made it known to him that she is really mine.

I am the one who struggled with her while he was away while I was in school 12 hours a day.”
