“I had to come to grips with my reasons for not getting a dog.

Primarily, I thought the city is not a place for a big dog, and I only wanted a big dog.

Also, we travel a lot, I didn’t want to pick up poop, and I just didn’t want another responsibility.

But that was only partially the reason, the other being that I hadn’t gotten over the loss of my last dog.”

“We got Preston as a result of a sad event.

We’ve always had Vizsla’s and Preston is our third.

Our first Vizsla, Lucas died at 15 years old, and we got a puppy soon after, called Theo.

We were on vacation and Theo was hit by a car at 20 months and died instantly.

We were devastated and a breeder friend of ours called and said he had a male Vizsla that was a six month old failed show dog that needed a home.”

“I had always wanted a dog growing up, but my mom didn’t like dogs, because when she was very young a street dog chased and bit her.

This was in Nigeria, where I am from.

When I met my fiancé, who loves animals (dogs and lions in particular), she had a wolf-dog called Balto, who was very old when we started dating.

He was 15 and lived to be 19.

When he passed, my fiancé was distraught.”

“Our last dog died.

He was a double dapple Dachshund who died when he was 11 years old.

I really wanted a rescue mutt but it was surprisingly hard process.

I had to fill out applications and give references.

When I went to the ASPCA, they had a lot of big Pit Bulls, but we had a small apartment, and we wanted a small dog.”
