“Since having Kiwi, we moved to New York, from Palo Alto and she was a continuity of companionship throughout the move.

We weren’t as close to a dog park in California, so New York is great for her because she loves the dog park.

Having Kiwi has given me another creature to care for and my maternal instincts have kicked in.

The three of us make a nice little family.”

“I was convinced from the first minute, when she hopped on my lap, that she would be mine.

It took a little convincing with some of my roommates, but by the week’s end, everyone approved.

It was difficult at first because she wanted to sleep with me, but my roommate didn’t want her in our bedroom, she was relegated to the living room.

She cried and scratched at the door, so I got a trainer and I practiced going in and out of the bedroom and not responding when she cried or scratched at the door.”

“To get past the no dog rule, I got a letter from a therapist saying, I needed her for emotional support, which I did,

I didn’t hear for a few days, but when I followed up, they told me to come and pick her up.

I left work and picked her up an hour later.

It was a foster to adopt process and I had a week to decide if I wanted to keep her.

I had a few roommates, so they had to get to know her and approve.

My boyfriend was visiting, and he had to approve, too.”

“My boyfriend moved away for a year and we were having a long distance relationship, so I basically replaced him with a dog.

I applied to several different rescue groups online and applied for several different dogs.

I got rejected from a few, because I work full time.

Then, I saw Kiwi’s profile on Cooper’s Dream website and applied right away.

I liked the expression on her face and they described her as being quiet.

Also, I lived in a no dog allowed apartment.”
