“We were torn between Silka and one other, but my mother suggested we go with our first instinct and the reason we were there in the first place.

We adopted Silka and brought her home that day.

That was two years ago.

The only hard part since getting Silka has been her teething phase, which she is still going through.

She used to bite us and it was hard for her to stop.”

“I also love how much she gives back tome in regards to companionship and laughs.

Lily has a great sense of humor, and makes me laugh regularly.

She loves to roll around on the ground while seemingly smiling, and likes to steal things like socks, shoes and a loofa sponge.

She never destroys things, she just likes the game of taking them and having us chase her.

Coming home after work is pure joy, because she is so happy and we like seeing each other.”

“Lily was there when I met my current wife and was so jealous of her that she used to eat her undergarments.

It took about six months for Lily to come around, but now they are best friends.

Lily gets upset when my wife is not around, and waits in the hallway for her to come home.

Lily has changed how I live my life.

It’s everything from the mundaneness of scheduling things, to the whole idea of having something you are responsible for.”

“When I first got Lily, I was going through a divorce and she was a constant source of joy and playfulness, which was wonderful.

She required a lot of attention, which was a great diversion from the divorce.

She was great about getting me a whole new social network and seeing parts of the city I had never been to before having her.

I have made friends through my walks with Lily that are now part of my social life.”

“We’ve always had a dog in our house and I realized I am not as happy without a dog as I am with one.

I had a friend who was always raving about his dog and I asked him who his breeder was.

Lily’s breeder is a hunting breeder.

The breeder gave me a big lecture about how she wouldn’t be happy if she wasn’t hunting.”

Bailey, the Staffordshire Terrier, Chow Chow, Boxer and Labrador Retriever Rescue Mix (she said, part 3)

“We took her home that day.

She is great in the city, but was originally saved from a kill shelter in Texas.

Bailey is the focal point of our family.

Everything we do revolves around her.

Now that we’ve had her for almost a year, she has settled into our daily routine.

My favorite think to do, is go for our early morning walk in Central Park, where she is off-leash.”

“My husband and I applied right away.

They checked out our references pretty quickly and then we went to meet her.

It was definitely love at first sight.

We didn’t want to go home without her.”

“I walk her more now because I am out of school.

I knew having a dog was going to be a lot of work, responsibility and fun.

It has been exciting because I see a new side to Silka every day.

I am watching her shed her puppy ways and grow into an adult dog.

It’s hard to put into words why I love her so much, but I feel very connected to her.”

“We adopted Silka and brought her home that day.

That was three months ago.

The only hard part since getting Silka has been her teething phase, which she is still going through.

She used to bite us and was hard for her to stop.

She would start and go wild and continue for a good ten to fifteen minutes in that crazy chomping mode.

This was before she had all her shots and she couldn’t go to he dog park or socialize with other dogs, yet.”

“It was love at first sight from the photograph.

We drove up to the shelter the next day to meet her.

We were offered a room where people meet and play with potential puppies and dogs to adopt.

When we first met her and her siblings, they all jumped at us.

We were torn between Silka and one other, but my mother suggested we go with our first instinct and the reason we were there in the first place.”
