Norman, the Goofy Shepherd/Husky Puppy That Makes Everyone Laugh (part 4)

They get along great, but Norman can be annoying because he wants to play more than she does (she’s 11), he gets the message most of the time and backs off.

We’ve had Norman four month and he’s such a ball of energy.

He’s funny; he’s that goofy puppy that makes everyone laugh.

He’s got long legs that he will hopefully, grow into, but right now he’s very uncoordinated and constantly tripping over his own legs.”

“I fell in love with his ears and smile.

He was being fostered by a couple on the upper east side and we met up an adoption event at Petco.

We brought our dog Hannah with us to see how they would get along.

Norman rolled over and was submissive towards Hanna, so we thought it was a good match.”

My husband and I love having two dogs in the house.

We had Hannah, a Silky Terrier, and we had another dog that passed away in April.

We waited five months to get Norman.

I heard about a rescue group called Muddy Paws and I looked them up.

They had a lot of great dogs on their site.”

“I had dogs growing up so it’s easy to be involved with someone who has 3 dogs.

When I met my girlfriend, she had 1 dog, Hero.

She sent me a photo of Izzy at the adoption event.  I didn’t realize she was adopting Izzy until later that evening.

That was about a month before we moved in together.

I didn’t know what to think because Izzy was so sick, but when she got better it was great because Hero was happier.  She was never alone and was happy to have a companion.

Mellons is a mess, in that he is loud and has a way of flinging himself at everything.  He doesn’t jump on the couch, he throws himself on the couch.  Sometimes he makes it and other times he hits the side of the couch and lands on the floor.

Having 1 dog would be the hardest because it would be alone all the time, but with 3 dogs they always have each other.

It’s more expensive but the same amount of work.”

“I volunteer at the CACC (Care for Animal Control Center) and Melons was set to be euthanized.

He was almost 4 and had kennel cough.

I had him pulled from the euth list and agreed to foster him–that was 6 months ago.

I pretty much knew from the first day that I would keep him.

I didn’t make it official until I had him for 4 months.

I also volunteer with Best Friends Animal Society and they were having a pop up adoption event where I was working.

I saw that the CACC had an adoption van parked nearby and went out to say, hello.

One of the adoption counselors had Izzy in her lap.  She looked exactly like Hero and was incredibly sweet.

I finished working the Best Friend’s event and went home with Izzy.”
