“Boscoe had been in the shelter for an entire year and they weren’t showing him because he had a leg in a sling that was infected.

They kept taking him to a vet to drain his leg full of infection, but never treated it properly.

I said, let me adopt him and I will get him treated and take care of him.

The adoption group came over for a home visit and we were approved.

I took Boscoe to my vet, where they took x-rays and saw a bullet in his leg.”

“I rescued my big guy Boscoe, from a shelter in Texas outside Dallas, called It’s Raining Cats and Dogs.

It was a rescue group based out of Cabela’s, a sporting goods store.

I had seen a white Pit with blue eyes the year before.

I remembered that dog and inquired with the group to see if they still had the white Pit with blue eyes.

The head of the rescue group said they had two white pits with blue eyes, so my husband and I went down and looked at them.”

“Mabel has a toe infection and we couldn’t tell, but she was limping sporadically.

We went to the vet for her bordatella vaccine and asked the Dr. to take a look at her toe and found out that she had an infection and needed antibiotics as well as toe soaking and pain medication.

We are still learning as we go.

My wife and I are both career people.

We have been married for 15 years and have very busy lives, and occasionally find ourselves out of sinc– just in our everyday existence.

I think Mabel is a galvanizing force that brings us together.”
