“It’s a big decision.

Also, Winston was dying of pneumonia when we got him.  The vet said he was 2 days away from death.

I still recommend adopting before shopping, but I learned a lot about puppy mills, pet stores and when you meet a dog that is meant to be yours, it doesn’t matter where it comes from.”

We were living in a temporary apartment while we were looking for a new place.  Getting another dog was not on the table because we already had one, but one day when we were picking up her food at this pet store, I made eye contact with this puppy and I ended up leaving the store with him in my arms.

We weren’t planning on buying another dog for a myriad of reasons.

We already had a dog, we were living in a temporary space and we don’t support puppy mills.  Also, we hadn’t been together long.”

“My parents got a dog the year before I left for college but I had always wanted one.  I’d been obsessed with dogs since I was tiny.

Getting a dog was always on my Christmas list.

Nikki is a rescue and kind of a nervous dog.

My boyfriend, and I are passionate about adopting/rescuing dogs as opposed to shopping at a pet store.”

“Samantha is so full of love that she zoomed around the apartment when I came home from school and then sat on my lap for most of the evening.

Technically, Samantha is my boyfriend’s dog as well as mine, but I am protective of her and have made it known to him that she is really mine.

I am the one who struggled with her while he was away while I was in school 12 hours a day.”

Milo, the Pomsky (Pomeranian/Husky Mix), (part 6, she said)

“Milo has also made us more of a family.

We take walks together, look for dog parks together and have become social with other dog owners.

All in all, Milo has expanded our world.”

“initially, having Milo was difficult on our relationship because we had a tough time dividing the responsibilities.

We weren’t sure about who walked him or cleaned up his accidents more, but now being responsible for Milo has ultimately brought us together.

We have learned to work as a team.”

We divided the walks evenly and are on the same page about training him.”

“Since having Milo, I have been working and attending school at the same time and I was overwhelmed.

I began to cry, and Milo just knew that I needed comforting and lay down beside me.

Hie is usually closer with my boyfriend, but on this day he stayed by my side for several hours.

We fell asleep together and when I woke up, he was still by my side.”

“We ended up looking at Lancaster Puppies and Greenfield Puppies.

As soon as we saw photos from Greenfield, where Milo’s photo was posted, we knew we wanted him.

We missed out on a few other pups before him, because they get adopted really quickly, so we called the breeder and put a deposit on him immediately.

We flew Milo to New York City five days later.

That was eight months ago.”

“I started googling Pomsky’s for sale everywhere.

I looked up the personality for both Pomeranian and Husky and their descriptions matched what we were looking for.

They are very smart, active, physically appealing and social with other animals, including cats (which we do have).

We had limited options because they are relatively a new mix of breeds.

There were breeders in NY.”

“Milo is my first dog.

I live with my boyfriend, and living in the city we don’t have a lot of space because

we live in a small apartment.

We wanted a dog that resembled a wolf or a Husky.

A Husky was too big for us but we came across the Pomsky, which is a Pomeranian mated with a Husky.

I did a lot of research and came across an article about the Pomsky.

I loved that they look like mini Husky’s.”
